April Sticky Chicks Craft Night

My hope is that we'll start using this blog and, throughout the month, will post projects we see online that we think would be great for our craft night. Then at the end of the month the next hostess will narrow down the projects and have us vote on their top choices.

For instance, we all post any cool projects we find during the month of March. Since I'm the April hostess I'll narrow down the choices posted in March. Come April 1st we'll all vote on our favorite project to complete at our April meeting.

Here are a few projects that I've been kicking around...

These are picture display frames for around the house. Made of pieces of wood, wooden candlesticks, wooden knobs, etc.

I'm a little torn on this one. I definitely like them but I'm thinking these might be better for later on in the year, maybe in November when we could do "Thankful" on the blocks. But I still like them a lot so I thought I'd throw them out now. We could always revisit it in later months though.

I like this idea, though I'm not sure this exact design is what I'm looking for. The idea here is a wreath that can be easily changed for every season. The area where the flowers are has a big strip of velcro on the back. Each season is made and glued onto one background, with velcro on the back. In that way you can make different designs for each holiday or season and just velcro the pieces off and on.

Here's the pictures from when I originally saw the idea. But I'd probably make changes. For instance, a spring wreath would be adorable with lots of those rolled fabric flowers that we'll hopefully learn to make this month. Or we could do burlap flowers like this but in the fabrics and color schemes for the holiday or season.

I'd probably do something more traditional for St. Patricks day... something with shamrocks maybe?

I'm thinking stars for 4th of July.

Maybe a slew of leaves and acorns and such for fall:

And hearts for Valentines Day.

Anyways, I like the idea of all the fabric and color schemes with the background of burlap, I'm just not sure I love her flower design. However, the idea of an easily changeable wreath for the seasons is something that intrigues me.

So, what do you think?

And don't forget to post some suggestions for what you'd like to see this month too. :)
